Most StyleWave jewelry is fashion jewelry. Treat it as a wearable accessory, not as fine jewelry, unless the listing states a specific metal such as sterling silver.
Before you wear it
- Apply perfume, hairspray, and lotion first. Let them dry.
- Put jewelry on last.
- Check earring backs and lobster clasps before you leave the house.
Water, sweat, and sleep
Take plated necklaces, rings, and earrings off before swimming, showering, workouts, and sleep. Chlorine and salt water strip plating. Sweat does the same over time.
Storage
Store pieces separately so chains do not tangle and earring posts do not scratch a plated ring. A small pouch is enough. Do not toss belts and sunglasses in the same bag as loose chains.
Cleaning
Wipe metal with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use toothpaste, baking soda, silver dip, or ultrasonic cleaners on plated fashion jewelry. Fabric scarves can be spot-cleaned; follow the care line on the product page. Sunglasses lenses should be wiped with a microfiber cloth, not a paper towel.
Skin reactions
Fashion metals can include alloys that bother sensitive skin. If you react to costume jewelry, do not wear the piece. Email us if a new, unused item caused a reaction; we will handle it under the return policy.
What a product page should tell you
Look for length (necklaces), diameter or U.S. ring size (rings), material notes, and whether earrings are for pierced ears. If a measurement is missing and you need it, email support@getstylewave.com before you order.
